Tell us a little about yourself
Fill out a short form. There's no right answer — just share what feels comfortable.
We match you with a Walker
Every Walker is screened for empathy and reliability. We match by personality and availability.
Go for a walk
60 minutes, outside, at your pace. Your Walker listens. That's it. That's the whole thing.
How we screen every Walker
Background check
Every Walker passes a thorough criminal background check before their first client.
Empathy assessment
We assess listening skills and genuine care — not credentials, not a script.
Shadow walk
Each Walker completes a supervised walk before going solo with any client.
What people say
From people who've walked with us in Altoona.
"After my wife passed I stopped leaving the house. My Walker showed up every week and never once tried to fix me or give advice. She just walked with me. That was enough."
"I was skeptical about paying someone to spend time with me. But my Walker is real — she listens, she remembers what I said last time, and she never makes me feel like a project."
"I helped arrange this for my dad after he moved here from out of state. He does not have friends nearby and he was not going to ask for help himself. Monthly Companion changed that."
"I have social anxiety and the idea of making new friends feels impossible. Knowing my Walker is screened and genuinely wants to be there made it possible to start showing up again."
Questions we hear often
Is this therapy?
No. Walkers are trained listeners, not counselors. They don't diagnose, advise, or treat anything. They walk with you. That's the whole scope.
How are Walkers screened?
Every Walker completes a background check, an empathy and listening assessment, and a shadow walk before meeting their first client. We are looking for genuine care, not credentials.
What if I can't afford it?
We have a Pay What You Can option. Tell us what you can manage, even nothing, and we will do our best to find you a Walker. No one is turned away for not having the money.
Where do you operate?
Walk by Faith is based in Altoona, Alabama. We're growing deliberately. If you're outside Altoona and want to know when we expand, get in touch.
You don't have to walk through it alone.
It takes less than two minutes to request your first walk.
